After the state government took a decision to participating in National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi for admissions to medical and dental courses from the academic year 2013-14. MT-CET test will cover only engineering and pharmacy courses in the state.
NEET is the first medical entrance test on national lavel for admissions in Undergraduate Medical/ Dental courses across the country. Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi conducts the NEET UG 2013. NEET Will be conducted on May 05, 2013 across the country.
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra issued a notification on the Maharashtra Technology - Common Entrance Test (MT-CET 2013), which is now the combined entrance exam for admissions to engineering ad pharmacy degree courses in the state will be held on May 16, 2013.
M M Morve, Additional Secretary to state Department of Higher and Technical Education recently issued a government resolution declaring that the state director of technical education will be the competent authority for MT-CET 2013. Until last year, Director of Medical Education and Research was the authority for MH-CET. The DTE would late take over as the regulatory authority for the centralized admission process to engineering and pharmacy courses.
