
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi informed that admissions to all MBA programmes in AICTE- approve institutions and university departments shall be based on CMAT Scores and for the PGDM institutions will be done based on one of the five tests {CMAT, CAT, MAT, XAT and ATMA) for admission for the year 2013-14 and accordingly to take necessary action in this regard.
The AICTE conducts Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for admission to Management programmes approved by AICTE.
Accordingly, it has been decided by the state government that only CMAT scores will be considered for admission in Postgraduate MBA Management programs in all AICTE approved institutions and State universities in the state from the academic year 2013-14.
Further, Karnataka Examinations Authority may take all necessary action to comply with the directions of AICTE in this regard.
With the latest addition, the states that have already notified CMAT as the official exam for their state university MAB Programs are: Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Nagaland, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Haryana and Karnataka.
