Schools were to start their admission procedure from today onwards i.e. 10th Jan to 30th Jan, which has been ordered to postpone for at-least a week till the new schedule is been released by the Education Department.
The Deputy Director of Education, for schools, NB Chavan said "The Government resolution (GR) on the RTE reservation clause is yet to be released. Once it is done, the education department will announce a new admission schedule for all Schools." Moreover, since past week the principals of all schools have been attending aworkshops on conducting admissions under the 25% RTE Quota.
A school Principal, Fr. Francis Swamy, Holy Family High School, Anderi East, Mumbai, said "The west Zone education officer conducted a meeting last week and we were asked to conduct admissions according to the new schedule. Our forms are ready and we are only waiting for the Government's Green Light signal to start our admission process."
Later, the Education Inspector of West Zone Suresh Mali said "We meet principals to discuss matters related to new rules. This month we focused on RTE and have cleared the doubts that all Principals had about rectifying the Admission schedule."
However, as a part of monthly education meet, the education inspectors have assured that principals and school representatives are explained the implication of RTE.Well, now parents have to wait for a week time to do up with their Kids admissions.
