The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2012 results declared on Jan 09, 2013. An entrance exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Management for management courses.
CAT 2012 is significant as there is an increase in registrations, first time after moving to computer based testing platform. The growth in registrations is all encompassing cutting across the categories and gender. The number of girls registering and appearing for the test showed a considerable uptrend. This development might be seen as a response to the gender diversity in classrooms being sought by most IIMs following IIM Kozhikode's shift in admissions policy.
Around 191,642 candidates appeared in the 21 day testing window from Oct 11 to Nov 6, 2012.
Ten students with 100 percentile scores one of them is studying science at Delhi university and remaining from engineering discipline.
Four girls share the honours of scoring 99.99 percentile, highest score from among the girls.
In all 225 girls and 1640 boys scored more than 99 percentile.
