IIT's To Increase Fees For UG Courses
As of decision made in November 2012, the IIT standing committee has come up with an idea to increase the fees for Undergraduate courses in IIT's (Indian Institute of Technology). Students were stunned to hear that the fee structure shall be raised compared to the previous listings.

Sources revealed that the institutes are planning a fee hike of 80% in undergraduate courses. And hence the increase in the fees has been recommended by IIT standing committee.

A meeting regarding this issue shall take place on Monday where the IIT Council will decide whether the hike will take place or not. If the hike is agreed, students will have to shell out at Rs.90,000 per annum instead of Rs. 50,000.

Sources say that the hike has been planned so that these premier institutes can improve their standards of infrastructure

Previous report says that, The Council of Indian Institute of Technology has given a conclusive report in order to share a new fee structures for IIT's . It has been decided to hike the fee for about 400 percent, which will be brought into action from 2013. What can be the reason behind gearing up a new fee structure ? The council of IIT's says that it is only for students those who are not from an economically and socially backward classes, but students once employed must pay the extra fee amount immediately. According to the report, at present the annual fee is Rs.50,000/- for Bachelors of Technology(B.Tech) course. IIT Council Agreement says the fee is to be 2 Lakh per annum from 2013 .
