Common question papers for Class 12
The Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE), New Delhi has planned to have a common question papers for Science and Mathematics exam papers for class 12 across all the boards exams.

The COBSE has institutes a sub committee consisting of state board members of Assam, Maharashtra, Bihar, Rajasthan and Kerala to design a common question papers in Science and Mathematics subjects for Class 12 board exams for all boards.

The board was setup in 2011 to adopt a common core curriculum for Science and Mathematics subjects, the COBSE is taking the reforms initiated in the Senior Secondary Education sector, a step further with this move. The common design of the exam papers will ensure that the difficulty levels as well as the making systems will be even across the boards this bringing in uniformity in the process.

According to the chairman of COBSE & CBSE, Mr Vineet Joshi, this uniformity would offer equal opportunities for all students when appearing for centralized entrance examination like the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The JEE entrance exam will consider the Class 12 board exam marks by giving 40% of weightage for merit list from this year.

The common exam paper design will be pilot tested in five states for this year. Based on the experience, any changes needed will be incorporated and then tabled for approval before the COBSE. It is scheduled to be introduced from the year 2014.

Recently, the CBSE announced the Class 10 & Class 12 march 2013 time table.
