BSE To Launch Global Financial Market Course

The BSE Institute Ltd has come up with an idea to launch a new course as 'Global Finance Market'. It deals with studying the global financial markets with hands on experience at the stock exchange.

It is a postgraduate programme in Global Financial Market (PGP-GFM). This programme will help students learn fundamentals of the global financial markets by participating in various events that will enrich their learning experience. An senior official, Ambarish Datta who is a CEO and MD of BSE said that the programme will address the dearth of formally trained human resources in the BFSI sector.

"The markets and institutions operating in the global financial markets have, in recent years, undergone significant changes. Everything we know about financial systems points to continued globalization and interdependence. With that comes the near certainty that a systematic crisis in one major market will cause severe consequences in other markets."

He further explained that "This has resulted in the emergence of a new breed of global financial market professionals. This program has bee designed to groom such professionals and includes classroom sessions by market professionals and study visits to Asian and European financial markets".

What more does this programme offer with?
The programme also incorporates seminars and workshops to inform students about the careers in global financial markets. Spread across four semesters and comprising of 20 modules, PGP-GFM is a two year full time autonomous postgraduate programme. Also, BSE Institute will conduct a written entrance test on March 31, 2013 in all major metros across India for admissions.
