KIIT College Organises 'INSPIRE SCIENCE CAMP'

Gurgaon, 27th December 2012 : KIIT College had the privilege to organize 5 days INSPIRE Science Camp. The camp is a part of INSPIRE program being sponsored by DST (Department of science and technology), Govt. of India.

The main purpose of the camp was to enhance interest of students towards basic sciences. The senior subject academicians (mentors) from different academic Institutions namely University of Delhi, Delhi Technical University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and others, delivered the lectures / talks to motivate the students to achieve the aim.

 

Around 30 Schools and 200 students participated in the camp. The camp was inaugurated by Prof A. K Bakshi Vice Chancellor, Rajashri Tandon Open University Allahabad. CEO Of KIIT College Dr . Harshvardhan , Neelema Kamrah, Registrar of KIIT were present .

The laboratory attendant is required to be a graduate; post graduation is valid for the vacancy of junior laboratory assistant and for the post of Scientific Officer Senior Scientific Officer the requirement is of PhD.

Addressing the crowd, Prof. A.K Bakshi Vice Chancellor, Rajashri Tandon Open University Allahabad said that Students should pay more attention on the concept and should improve the quality of research in them.

On this Ocassion Mrs. Neelema Kamrah, Registrar of KIIT said that such camps should be conducted to enhance the basic knowledge of science in youths and a need to explore career opportunities in the field of science .There has been a massive growth of career opportunities in the field that many are still unaware of, the camp will enlighten the students of such various options to choose from other than Engineering or Bsc.{that is mostly opted }

The 5 days camp highlighted various foray of science subject like Rocket Engineering, Forensic Science etc.
Delivering the insights of Forensic Science, Prof G.C.Sodhi, Department of Forensic Science, Khalsa College (Delhi University) said that the graph of the crime rates in India is escalating very swiftly and hence, is the demand of experts of Forensic Science.

A career in this area is also an excellent substitute. In this subject, the students work in isolated forms in the Forensic Science Laboratory. The Dept. of Science and Tech., Govt. of India, launched the INSPIRE Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research - Programme in December 2008. INSPIRE is one of the innovative programs developed by the Department of Science & Technology. The basic objective of 'INSPIRE' would be to attract talent to the study of science at an early stage and help to build the required critical human resource pool for strengthening and expanding the Science & Technology system and R&D base. It is a programme with a long term foresight.
