After the state government took a decision to participating in National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi for admissions to medical and dental courses from the academic year 2013-14. MT-CET test will cover only engineering and pharmacy courses in the state.
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra issued a notification on the Maharashtra Technology - Common Entrance Test (MT-CET 2013), which is now the combined entrance exam for admissions to engineering ad pharmacy degree courses in the state will be held on May 16, 2013.
The State Director of Technical Education, K Mahajan issued a notification on MT-CET 2013. The DTE will also post details, related to the impeding test, on its official website of Directorate of Technical Education over I n next few days.
In Maharashtra, the NEET will also be the basis for admission to other health science courses such as ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Physiotheraphy, occupational therapy, nursing etc. The director of medical education and research (DMER) was the competent authority for the MHT-CET ever since it was introduced in the state.
