Among the six IIT Madras students who were selected, two candidates have rejected the South Koeran Multinational Company Samsung's $1,50,000 offer which is about 82 Lakhs.
Nithin Motiani and Sujeet Gholap, Computer Science B.Tech Graduates said "It was a tough call, but they eventually turned down the proposal".
Sujeet, who had created a record by getting six offered on Day 1 of the campus placement on Saturday, chose to work with Google. He said "Both the companies i.e. Google and Samsung are the leaders in their respective fields, and the work at both places will be challenging and satisfying, so, I wasn't exactly sure which one to pick".
What knocked over the balance was his dream of joining Google when he actually joined the Computer Science department four years ago.
Without disclosing on how much Google had offered him, he said "I never thought that I would get an offer from Google when I joined, just that it would be something nice to achieve".
Sujeet is all set to work out of the US office of Google and is expected to join the company in October 2013.
