For the upcoming year, all the shortlisted candidates list shall be announced in the month of December. Later these candidates can attend their interview either in January or February based on their convenience.
The head of the Admission department, SPJIMR said "We introduced the profile-based interview process in 2007 because we believed that only scores of MBA entrance tests are not enough to judge a candidate."
"We believe in more balanced personality, and thus short list students based on their consistent academic performance, extra-curricular activities, and versatility, which may be defined as having excellence in more than one fields. Also we like to know how the person is brought up and whether any type of adverse situation in life" he added.
It has two interview slots for aspirants shortlisted on the basis of Profile is going to benefit them. And, in case of a student who chooses the mid-January slot for the interview will be aware of his CAT scores.
To be noted: If the candidate scores less than 85%, he/she will decide not to appear for the interview, which will anyways be a futile process. This logic shall be applicable for the candidates of XAT Entrance Exam.
