JNTU Students Helping The Rural Schools
A group of Students from JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University), "Team Tejomaya" have taken up interest in 'Educational Awareness' via a campaign in Government schools. Their main objective of this campaign is to reduce the dropout rate and explaining to them the importance of pursuing higher education.

They were empowering the students from Std 5-10 of Government Schools in the vincity of Engineering College in Nachupally. The JNTU,Hyderabad students have a hectic schedule preparing the Government school students for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya entrance examinations, teaching English language through visual aids and newspapers, educational games, offering career guidance and personality development lessons, taking up communication skills workshop, imparting knowledge on competitive exams and entrance tests, with special classes on various subjects being organized as part of the project.

A students of 3rd year B.Tech at JNTU , Benny Moses said "We are happy to reach out to the rural students. Another student Nikhil Prathapani from B.Tech says "I was moved by the plight of girl students. The aim is to empower the rural students and tell them about the importance of higher education so that they have a bright future".

In other ways, these B.Tech students also had a chance to know the lesson of Leadership skills along with providing a good academic foundation to the rural children.

JNTU students are not to stop at this, further they want to take this mission forward in an effort to transform the rural schools as model schools by providing all the required guidance to the students.
