Edu'n In Orissa State Denied For Tribal Christians

Tribal Christians Opposed To Get Edu'n
A very recent issue in Orissa says that the India Tribal Christians were opposed to get Education. When India is striving to bring up RTE across country Why is Education being denied in Orissa for Tribal Christian students. To know, read on.

The Indian tribal Christians and their relatives are denied by the Government scholarships for Education in a violence-plagued district of India's eastern state of Orissa, said the local Christians and church leaders.

According to the sources, it is revealed that the authorities in Kandhamal district refused to issue documents needed for local christians to study at schools, colleges and universities under a government programme aimed at supporting disadvantaged people in this, mainly people of Hindu Society.

According to the Christian Rights activists, this issue has added to astriction all over Kandhamal District where around 100 people died in the anti-christian violence since Christmas 2007 and 2008.

Prakash Pradhan who belongs to Kandho Tribe in Pikoredi Village says that e was told by a local revenue administrative office he wouldn't receive the so called "Tribal Certificate" allowing a scholarship only because of his Christian Faith. He expressed his sorrow in the latest revealed case this year. He said "During the past four months, I visited the offices of Tahasildar, as the office is called for at least ten times. But, Finally they told me that I would not be given the tribal certificate because I am a Christian."

Moreover, the local Kandho tribal association 'Kuj Samaj' viewed as an Anti-Christian nationalist Hindu Group has pressured authorities not to issue the documents to him and other tribal Christians. Even a non-Christians are apparently targeted. As Bali Pradhan said, he could not get the caste certificate because his brother was a christian.

Similarly, children of parents being one christian- another a non christian or a devotee of Christianity were strongly opposed to have education. Is This 'ETHICAL'? Is This Called 'Humanity'? Is This The 'Rule Of RIGHT TO EDUCATION'? .

No, Not at all. 'EDUCATION' Is a "Equal Right", RTE has only separated fee structures based on Categories with the main motto that all category people can get education based on their personal income every year. And Not to differentiate any Caste or Religion.
