The sources revealed that with the semester examinations approaching, the DU administration has introduced new measures to ensure that the results are declared on time and to minimize discrepancies. The examination is set to begin from November 20, 2012.
Moreover, to speed up the evaluation process, the DU has put up scheduled note on its website. An official from Delhi University said "Following the examination date, the three people who had set the paper will meet and make a marking scheme. All teachers, say it may be ad hoc, temporary and permanent are also required to evaluate the answer scripts will be divided into three segments, with a different teacher checking each segment."
He added that the teachers will be served show-cause notices if they do not turn up for evaluation. Besides exceptional cases, all teachers are required to take part in the evaluation process. If they don't, then the university will take up this issue to the Executive Council.
In respect to the rules of the university, colleges have issued an 11-digit roll number to students. Earlier, students used to have different roll numbers in every year of their Undergraduate course, the new roll number will remain the same for the time of completion of their courses.
It is made in such a way that the first 2 digits will be the year of students admission and the next six will denote the code of the college, department or the subject. The last three digits will be the student's college roll number. And to be noted that students have to write their date of birth on the Answer scripts.
