State Medical Education Minister S A Ramdas said, "The centre will conduct the NEET exam and provide us the lit of the candidates eligible for the undergraduate medical seats in karnataka. Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bangalore will allot the UG Medical seats for the candidates like every year,"
Even the fee structure for the course will be decided by the state government by discussion the same with the private professional colleges associations. "As per the norms, those who secure 50% of marks in NEET will be eligible for the seat, So, once the list the eligible candidates is published, we will start the seat allotment process through online," he said.
The list of the eligible karnataka and non-karnataka candidates will come separately under all india quota. The department is waiting for the Supreme court direction in this matter, to take any further steps.
Ramdas also said, "Many Private colleges have filed case and that is coming up for hearing before supreme court in Nov 21. Following that we will start communicating with the private managements,"
The state government will be opening the 7 more medical colleges at Chamarajnagar, Tumkur, Haveri, Chitradurga, Koppal, Gadag and Mercara. The GOVT issued the order an official order and the colleges will start function from the academic year 2013-14.
