Check For An Valid Degree Certificate
Punjab and Haryana High court on Tuesday said the validity of the degrees and diplomas in technical courses issued by various deemed universities and institutes to those students of the region through distance learning programme will be terminated.

The petition was filed by Kartar Singh and few others in the year 2008.

It also assured that issuance of such academic certificate is illegal. As the impact this rule shall affect thousands of employees of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, who had got departmental promotions on the basis of the degrees and diplomas from deemed universities and institutions, situated outside the region, in last few years.

The division bench comprised of Justices Hemant Gupta and Rajiv Narain Raina who passed the judgment stating that the University Grant Commission (UGC) and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has not assured its approval for these courses.

Also, the bench observed that the 160 page verdict said "The degrees granted by such deemed universities are illegal and the candidates cannot be deemed to be qualified in the purported subjects in the absence of approval from the UGC".

Well, its a very tough time to such candidates who are the alumni of this university, until they are accepted by the companies.
