PostGraduate Students Now Turn Out To Be Teachers

Teachers Post For PostGraduate Students
Most of the Universities still undergo the shortage in faculties. Anna University was one among them. Hence, AU has come up with a new idea, to recruit 150 engineering postgraduates on contract basis and allow them to complete their doctoral degrees on the job.

The Vice Chancellor of Anna University P.Kaliraj said "We are considering taking in ME/.Tech candidates as teaching faculties in the departments. We recruit the shortlisted candidates in a ratio of 1:5 through a written test and an interview. The candidates shall be given a hoc appointment and asked to renew their contract every year."

He further explained that "candidates will be given the opportunity to pursue their PhD in the university departments simultaneously as they teach. This will ensure the research quality of the university departments simultaneously as they teach. This will ensure the research quality of the candidate is good, and once they got their doctorate they will be ready to be absorbed in the University departments or in other engineering colleges. This way we will have qualified faculty in a few years while meeting the present shortage".

The State Government is yet to deliberate on forming a new syndicate, after which a Vice-chancellor selection committee will be formed to call for applications for the post of Vice Chancellor.
