Three Attempts To Clear JEE Main 2013
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi announces that the students who are appearing for the Joint entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2013 will have three attempts to clear the entrance examination.

The JEE (Main) 2013 will determine entry to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Centrally funded engineering colleges like IIITs, and will be the first stage for entry into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The Joint Entrance Exam will be conducted in two parts, JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

The CBSE, which will conduct the examination, had announced that the offline test would take place on April 07, 2013, while the online test will be held between April 08 to April 30, 2013. Students can choose to write the test in either mode.

"All the candidates can avail only three attempts to write JEE (Main) examination in a consecutive years" said document.

The candidates who are passed class 12 in 20111 or 2012 will also be eligible to appear for the next years exam, in addition to the 2013 batch. The document clarifies that students will be able to improve their class 12 board exam performance, sine these marks will also carry weightage from the next year.

According to the new pattern of the examination, the 3 hours examination will have objective type questions and multiple choice questions. For each wrong answer, one-fourth of a marks will be cut, but there will be no deductions for not attempting.
