Arunachal Pradesh MP Sanjoy Takam on Tuesday who held a meeting with Chief Minister Prithiviraj Chavan assured that Special kindness towards students from the North East is undertaken in order to ensure that students from the NE will not face any problem in their respective colleges or Universities.

Sanjoy Takm said that "The Meeting with the Chief Minister was undeniable, Chavan agreed to consider our request for land in Mumbai for building bhavans of various northeastern states. Chavan also said that special travel arrangements are made for the return of students and working professionals from the northeast. He said he would also see whether concessions in fares could be granted".

He said his meeting with Chavan was aimed at strengthening security fro the future and not for the time being.

Takam said "I have visited Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and now in Maharashtra. In all states, the administration has extended all possible support to the community from the northeast. The panic situation created in the country was a result of rumors, which have to be tackled".

"The Arunachal Pradesh Bhavan is already under construction in Mumbai, Additional land for constructing bhavans of other northeaster states in Pune OR Mumbai is required. The officers posted at these bhavans could address the problems of people from the northeast in future".

MP Sanjoy Takam had a private meeting with students from the northeast in Pune on Tuesday Morning. He asked them to contribute to the nation building process and feel at home anywhere in India. Students have to be the ambassadors of their culture and state and represent the northeast with the positive outlook.

Jacob V Khiangte of the North East Students; Interim Forum said, "At the meeting, we requested students who have gone back to the northeast to make peace with other communities there and not create any trouble, as a small incident of violence there can create ripples here in Pune".
