CAT 2012 Exam Will Be Held For 21Days From This Yr

CAT 2012 Exam Dates Extended By One Day
Candidates of the CAT 2012 (Common Entrance Test) have got a little more flexibility this year as, CAT Exam Board has decided to extend the period of examination by 1day. Well, usually the exam was held for 20 days and starting from this year it will be conducted for 21 days starting from October 11, 2012 to November 6, 2012.

The Managing director of Pro-metric India Soumitra Roy said, "We have added one more day in the testing period this year. This will give more flexibility to the candidates appearing for CAT 2012. Candidates are advised to register early to get their preferred choice of location, date and time according to their convenience".

The small change was introduced after Pro-metric took feedback from candidates and stakeholders and reviewed its internal process. "We have made every possible effort to channelize all feedback into positive actions, which will make the experience more friendly for the candidates", he added.

Apart from an extra day, there will be no changes in CAT 2012 and the two sections and timings will remain same as last year. The previous computer-based tests have not been completely out of glitches. At the moment, the company is in the process of ensuring a smooth CAT for this year.

Roy said "With multiple venues and cities with thousands of computers, some hardware malfunctions are a reality. We have to confront reality and move on. As in previous years, test centres with the required physical and technical infrastructure have been chosen. We will quarantine all test centres before we begin technical readiness and extensive operational trials, which include preparing and testing all the computers that will be used to conduct CAT 2012".

However, the pro-metric will complete the training and certification of all test centre staff before the start of the testing window to ensure they are well equipped to assist candidates during the test. The company has also built in contingent capacity in all locations to cater to any of unforeseen technical issues that cannot be resolved immediately.
