Students Declared Failed-Was Institute's Mistake

Students Declared Failed By Mistake
A day after the Polytechnic College for Girls in Surat declared 52 final semester students as 'FAILED' in a practical examination on Thursday said that it was a "Mistake" on the institutes part and that all the students had cleared the final examination.

The students were pursuing Diploma in Textile Designing. The results were declared on Wednesday and put online. But much to their shock, the students were declared failed in the practical test of Design Visualization. The students visited the college at Athwagate and inquired with the authorities.

The authorities learnt that the Gujarat Technical University (GTU) in Ahmedabad, which conducts its theory exams, had not received the marks of practical examination sent online by the College. The principal of the college PM Patel said "The mistake was done by us. The practical marks uploaded for the GTU exam section did not reach them".

As a result, the students were not given any marks. There was some problem in the server. Nobody from GTU verified the results. We could not send hard copies of practical marks due to work load", he added. However, Later the institute sent a fresh mark sheet to the GTU after which all the students were declared pass .

Well, such cases would bring a lot of tension to students and parents as well. Hence this can be taken as a lesson to other colleges in order to be conscious during the declaration of their results.
