Gujarat Faces A Great Start In Medical Admissions

The admissions for the Medical courses in Gujarat started from yesterday, 17th July, 2012. Admission for around 8820 medical, dental and paramedical seats for the academic session 2012-13 has a great start.

The last date for admissions is scheduled on 28th July. According to the officials, out of the total 8820 seats, 2780 are registered for MBBS seats and 1022 are for dental seats. There are 1100 Bsc Nursing seats, 1525 Homeopathy seats, 130 ayurveda seats and 1300 seats for physiotherapy colleges.

There are 16293 students in the merit list that was declared by the ACPMEC. Physically challenged students and those from the CBSE and ICSE boards shall be granted admission on the first day. Students will have to bring their original marks sheets and Rs.15,000 with them.

It is the very first time that admissions to both Medical and Paramedical courses are granted at the same time. The cut-offs in government medical colleges have been increased by 1 or 2 marks.
