In the annual SSLC examination held in April over 8 lakh students appeared for the exams. The percentage of pass stood at 76.23 which is all time record in the history of Karnataka SSLC examinations.
Out of 2 lakh students failed in the April exams nearly 3/4 of them did take supplementary exams, which means rest 25% students can be deemed as drop outs. Dropping out from continuing education is mainly due to the socio-economic factors which affects students, parents and guardians, Venkateshaiah told Oneindia.
