2 Gujarat Colleges Renowned As Model School By UGC

The Gujarat University has been named 'Model College' for two of its affiliated colleges from UGC- The University Grant Commission. The title have been issued for Arts and commerce college in Panchamahal and Kathlal Government Arts and Commerce College.

These colleges not just receive a new title but also makes out its status. The Vice Chancellore of Gujarat University Parimal Trivedi said “Permission for Model college status has been received. As per the guidelines, the colleges will be directly monitored by VC.

He also said that each college will get Rs.2.67 crore as a grant from the Central Government. “In the first place of financial grant, the colleges will get Rs.1.33 crore each. They will have to implement reservation policy norms carefully and spend 22.5% of the grant money for the welfare of the SC/ST students of the college”, he added.
