A statement from ISB said- The Proposed short duration research-oriented programmes would focus on family business, entrepreneurship, business leadership, strategy and related domains. This world later be expanded to include programmes on public private partnership (PPP) as well.
ISB, Hyderabad will be focusing on the design and delivery of the programmes while IBA, established in 1987 by Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, will be responsible for their marketing and promotion. The programmes are slated to commence from June and will be conducted by ISB's faculty.
The Deputy Dean of ISB, Deepak Chandra said in a statement as “We are confident that this partnership will help generate tremendous opportunities for cross-collaboration between the two schools and sets the tone for many more future associations aimed at nurturing business leaders and entrepreneurs who would contribute to the growth of business and industry in Pakistan”.
The MoU marks partnership between two leading educational institutes of India and Pakistan that have been rivals ever since they gained independence from the British in 1947. IBA said “We will start on a modest scale but will build up our relations over time as each one of the two institutions gets to know the other. As a long-time advocate and firm believer in friendly relations between the two neighborly countries for peace and prosperity of our people this event represents a turning point”.
India had made huge advances in higher education, science and technology and we in Pakistan should benefit from their achievements, said IBA.
