Finance Minister Pranab To Address VTU Convocation

The Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukharjee will deliver the convocation address at the 11th Annual Convocation of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) here on April 8, 2012. VTU Vice-chancellor H Maheshappa stated this to reporters. At the Convocation, Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, Dr.SS Mantha, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education, Dr.HC Visvesvaraya former VC, University of Roorkee will be conferred honorary doctorates.

The founder president of Gokul Education Foundation, which runs several education institutions, including medical and engineering college in Bangalore, MS Ramaiah would also be conferred honorary doctorate posthumously, said Maheshappa .

The Governor HR Bharadwaj and Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda will also grace the convocation at which VTU will confer BE Degree to 53,451 students, B Arch degrees to 278, MBA Degree to 4,865, MCA degree to 2,544 students, M.Tech degree and Master Architecture to 10 students.
