Almost 8.39 lakh students across the state are writing the exam this year. The police department would look into security arrangements for examination centres and also escort the question papers and answer papers to these centres. In the light of the recent fiasco of PU question papers, the police have been instructed to keep a vigil on photocopy centres and such other places which are likely to turn hubs for question paper leak during exams.
D.Venkateshaiah, the director of KSEEB assured that the examination board helpline which was set up on March 25 has received 250 calls till now from candidates appearing for the exam. He observed that not many calls were related to examination stress this time.
From Monday, the start of examinations, the helpline is to function between 9 am and 1:30 pm. It will function till the exams are completed.
