The 6 new AIIMS (All India Institutes of Medical Sciences) being set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will offer course at a higher fee compared to that of AIIMS, New Delhi.
The fee structure of 6 new AIIMS to be established at Patna, Bhopal, Rishikesh, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur and Raipur has already been decided by the Ministry. Registration fee and caution money will remain same but other fee elements such as hostel fees, tuition fees etc... have been hiked.
Ideally, the fee should have been revised after every 5 years. Now if the institute raises its fee suddenly, students will start opposing it. Hence, ministry has decided to increase the fee of the new centers. These centers will start their first academic session from August of 2012. The new AIIMS centers have completed all work related to admission and admission forms will remain available till April 2, 2012.
AIIMS, Delhi will conduct the entrance exam on June 2, 2012 at 17 centers across India. Applicants who wish to be admitted in any of these 6 new centers besides AIIMS, Delhi are required to mention their preference while applying.
