The management department has proposed to significantly increase the annual fee of part time MBA and MBA (Health care administration) programmes to Rs.50,000 from Rs.11,000 per annum. Moreover, the names of these courses will be changed to MBA (Executive) and MBA (Executive) healthcare administration. The number of seats in one of the courses will also be decreased.
At present, FMS has 232 seats for part time MBA course but from the next academic session only 172 students will be admitted. MBA (Healthcare administration) will offer 42 seats instead of 37. The sources from FMS revealed that due to the decreased in students enrolling for the 2 courses, the faculty has decided to approve the changes. Since, most of the executive programs worldwide are of 2 years so, it has been decided to reduce the course duration to 2 years from 3 years.
A senior faculty member of FMS stated that the course curriculum will not be diluted due to the shortening of the program duration instead it will be made more intensive. The students pursuing part time MBA programs will now require 75% attendance and will have to pass the courses within the time period of 4 years.
