Hike In B School Fee Structure For Session 2012-14

Fee structure is not the prime criteria for joining any reputed B school, but still analyzing the fee structure of all the B schools with each other is a must. The B Schools this session have got into a decision to hike their fee structures.

In order to help the students understand the fee hikes better, the detailed fee structure in order to the past and present fee amount is mentioned further. The Business schools such as BIMTECH Greater Noida, LIBA Chennai, DMS, IIT Delhi, FORE School of Management, New Delhi have put a hike in their fee structure.

The fee is compared from the academic year 2011-13 and the present structure made in 2012-14. MDI Gurgaon raised Rs.8.5lakh to Rs.12 lakh, FORE School of Management, New Delhi raised Rs.8 lakh to Rs.11 lakh. LIBA Chennai, Rs.5.28 lakh to Rs.8.5 lakh, DMS, IIT Delhi Rs.2.5 lakh to Rs.4 lakh, BIMTECH Greater Noida from Rs.8 lakh to Rs.11 lakh and finally IMI Delhi Rs.9.80 lakh to Rs.10.77 lakh.

The budget 2012-13 has hit hard almost all the sectors. While on one hand, finance minister allocated more funds for the education sector to open new IIT's and IIM's, at the same time increased service taxes led most of the B Schools to increase their fee structures for the upcoming batch of 2012-14.

ISB Hyderabad, which is also on track expected to increase its fees by about Rs.43000. With the increase in the service tax to 12.36%, the tax element of institute's fee for a student opting for a shared room will be increased by Rs.41468.

However, increase in service tax from 10.3% to 12.365% has definitely made the management education more expensive.
