Final Placement Process Commences In IIM-Ahmedabad

IIM-Ahmedabad Placement Process
The IIM-A – Indian Institute of Management -Ahmedabad, has commenced its final placement process from 13th Feb, 2012. Nearly 372 students of the PGP (Postgraduate Programme) in Management section will be participating this year in the placement process.

This year IIM-A is following a cohort-based placement system wherein a group of 3-4 similar companies from the same industry offering similar profiles, packages and locations visit the campus on the same day. The cohort-based placement system was introduced in the IIM's in 2010.

This year the placement process will be held for small duration. Earlier the placement process consisted of many companies in a group visiting the campus mostly on weekends but this time, the gap between the companies visiting the campus will be abridged where there will be a break of about 2-days between each group.

This will reduce the overall span of placement process. The placement process will finish in less than 2 weeks this year as 4 cohorts will be organized during the entire process. The institute has decided to reduce the duration of placement process in order to minimize the mental pressure on students.

IIM-A has started its placement process from February 13, 2012 by hosting groups one followed by other on February 17 and 21 respectively. The 4th cluster will be the last one to be hosted by the institute on February 26. After finishing the 4 cohorts, institute will commence the process in the rolling placement format wherein the remaining students will be placed by the institute.
