
However India is having a large number of teachers in India but still needs more. All processes of teacher recruitment, training, motivation, incentives, retention and feedback therefore have to be planned on the Large Scale.
The main focus of bringing up this plan is :
- To enhance the institutional capacity available at present for ensuring the adequate supply of trained teachers for all levels of school education
- To utilize all possible kinds of institutions, including university departments of education and teacher training institutions in the private sector, for in-service training of the existing cadre at all levels, in addition to state Institutions, including CTE's.
- To bring out synergy between institutional structures operating at different levels. For example, NCERT and NCTE at National Level SCERT's and boards of education at State level, DIET's and undergraduate colleges at the district level and more.
This new project for renovating Teacher Education was finalized after two meetings at Calcutta and New Delhi with The Teacher Education Bureau of the MHRD. However, the first web based issue has been brought out. It contains articles on Institutions of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE's), College of Teacher education (CTE's) and District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET's); Teacher Training Management system in UP as well as the revised government of India Scheme for renovating Teacher edcuation.
The website has been prepared by the Teacher education Bureau in a comprehensive manner specially for creating greater awareness on the issue of teacher education and to facilitate the effective implementation of the scheme.
