Engineering Agriculture Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is an annual entrance test conducted by Jawaharlal Technical University (JTU). This exam is organized on behalf of APCHE to admit students for different professional courses in private and government colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

EAMCET which is scheduled to be held on May 12, is the 15th time on progress and the application process is likely to be made entirely online. The AP State Council of Higher Education on Saturday announced the schedule for various Common Entrance Tests for admissions to professional courses in the state for the session 2012-13. This year, EAMCET is scheduled on Saturday, since some other competitive exams by APPSC and other recruitment boards are been scheduled for Sunday. APSCHE Chairman Prof.Jayaprakash Rao said that “Last year students were given the option to apply for EAMCET in either online or offline mode. But this year, we want to make the application process entirely online. However, we are yet to take a final decision over online application system itself”.

Structure of EAMCET Exam : The exam will have only objective type questions in all the three areas. Applicants should select the correct option from all the options which are given to them. There will be a total of 160 questions which will be available for about 160 marks.

For Medical Entrance Test :

  • Physics – 40 questions
  • Chemistry – 40 questions
  • Biology (Botany and Zoology) – 80 questions

For Engineering :

  • Mathematics – 80 questions
  • Chemistry – 40 questions
  • Physics – 40 questions

For Agriculture :

  • Physics – 40 questions
  • Chemistry – 40 questions
  • Biology – 80 questions

Eligibility :

  • Candidate should be of Indian Origin. The very basic eligibility for appearing in EAMCET exam is that the candidate should have passed 12th class exam conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Age Limit : The candidate should have attained age of 17 years for admission to this exam.
  • In case of all the three streams of entrance, the candidate should have attained an aggregate of 50% for attending the entrance exam. There are relaxations in case of reserved categories.

Important dates and timings :

  • Exam Duration : 3 Hours
  • Applications are made available from : Second week of February, 2012
  • Last date of receipt of applications – Second Week of March, 2012
  • Last date for submission of applications – third week of March, 2012

Centres for EAMCET Exam : Colleges, medical colleges and other institutions that offer this program acts as examination centres on behalf of the Jawaharlal Nehuru University.
