Himachal To Go With Board Exams For Class 11

Board Exams For Class 11 To Be Conducted
At Shimla, The State Government has decided to conduct Board Examination for the Class 11. This decision was taken in order to give much relief to the school children taking successive board exams at Class X, Class 11 and Class 12 levels. On Saturday, a Government spokesman announced that the State Government has notified that from the year 2012 the 10+1 examination, which was alternatively being conducted by HP Board Of School Education (HPBSE), would be discontinued.

With students getting grilled by board examinations at class 8,10,11 and class 12 levels, educationists have been critical of the state government's education policy which was considered a major source of revenue for the education board.

A school principal said that students, including girls, had to pay examination fees for the board exams conducted by HPBSE which was defeating the very objective of providing free education to girl students. Barring examination fees, Himachal Government has declared free education for girls right up to University level.
