The rankings for the year 2011-12 was conducted in the month of September, 2011. As the previous report says ,last year we were at the top 100's rankings, now we have top 200 for 2011-12 and as a result not a single Indian University among the celebrated IITs and IIMs had a sign of being a part of World's Top 200 Universities. This year, only two IITs have successfully come to the way of top 200 universities , IIT Delhi and Bombay .
IIT Delhi in the 154th place and IIT Bombay in 174th place, with respect to the Times Higher Education List, Harvard University of United States stands as the top in the list. The report says that, US Institutions have grabbed seven places at the top 10 World's top Universities. When considering the grade's the three British universities, The Oxford, The Cambridge and Imperial College London, continue to make the cut with a University in China are also making the grade towards the highest ones.
Among the world rankings provided by the Times Higher Education Magazine, it places around 75 US Universities in the top 200's , which consists of 32 Universities from UK,12each by Germany and Netherlands, and 9 of Canada . The others include universities in Taiwan, Brazil, Singapore, South Africa, and China. But still, its not seem good enough as no Indian University is deemed to be included in the exclusive top list, even though India is in advanced to have increased its interests towards higher education in the recent years .
