Australia gaining popularity among Indians again

Australia is finally delighted to get some warm response from the Indian Students. Its been long, but the tide is finally seems to be turning in favour of Australian universities, as more and more Indian students are again considering it as one of the favourable study abroad destination.

The Australian Immigration Department has recorded a 21 percent rise in student visa applications from India in the first six months this year. Over 3,700 Indian students have applied for Australian visa in 2011.

It was tough time for Australia after the shameful incident where Indian students were seen as a spate of assaults on South Asian students in Melbourne and Sydney.

But, Australia after relaxing the visa regulations from 1 April 2011 and a significant drop in assaults on international students,the place is again gaining popularity.

India is the third-largest provider of permanent skilled migrants to Australia. Over 15,000 Indians decided to make Australia their home last fiscal.
