SOL to adopt semester system from next
This year, Delhi University is all set to go by semester system for all courses. Now,the School of Open Learning, which also comes under Delhi University wish to follow the semester system instead of the annual mode for its undergraduate classes. But the implementation of semester system will be from next year only.

However, the postgraduate courses currently run by the semester system at SOL. This year, it was not possible for the UG courses, because the syllabus is not yet handed over by the university authorities to the School of Open Learning (SOL). Syllabus formation is yet to be processed.

Generally, any change in policy made by DU takes a year's gap in application in SOL.
Also, those who take admission in SOL this year won't be able to migrate to a regular college next year. This is because regular colleges would have already adapted to the semester mode from this year.

Around 70,000, applications have been sold at SOL and the application process will go on till 1 August 2011. The school is going to attract a lot many students in compared to last year.
