With vacant seats in most courses, several colleges have released the second cut off list. As per the new list, cut-off marks have decreased in BCom (honours), BA programmes along with several science courses.
It is being observed that there is a fall in the cut-off by 1 or 2 percent for the undergraduate commerce courses in colleges like Kirori Mal, Sri Venkateswara, Khalsa and Lady Shri Ram. In the science stream, a sharp fall of 5 per cent for Physics and 3 percent for Chemistry has been noticed at Daulat Ram College.
However, in Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), which affixed a 100 percent cut-off for its B.Com (Honours) course for non-commerce students, in the first list, have no seats left for general students. Similarly, B.A. (Hons) Economics seats have also been filled.
However, admissions to popular courses like B.Com, B.A. (Hons)Economics and English are still open in colleges such as Hans Raj, Lady Shri Ram, Khalsa, Kirori Mal, Sri Venkateswara and Indraprastha College , with their cut-offs dipping by one to five percent.
Now, the students who could match up with the expected cut-off of the second list can take admissi between 22 and 25 June, 2011. Unlike last year a total of five lists will be announced this year and the admissions will continue till 13 July, 2011 and the academic year will begin on 15 July 2011.
