CET Karnataka engg counselling will get delayed

It is only students who are the worst sufferers when a counselling session get delayed indefinitely.The Counselling session for engineering courses, scheduled to begin from 27 June 2011, will get delayed by at least 10 days.

As per Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) authorities, “Counselling is highly dependent on the availability of seat matrix. For 2011-12, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has not yet sent any approval of seats." Hence, the counselling will be delayed.

It was assumed that AICTE will declare the seat matrix by 30 May 2011. Then a preliminary meeting was also scheduled on 8 June 2011, both of which has not happen. Now, AICTE has asked to schedule the preliminary meeting on 30 June 2011.

KEA is afraid that if the AICTE meet will not happen on 30 June, then the counselling will get further delayed. KEA had scheduled the engineering counselling to begin from 27 June 2011 soon after the completion of medical and dental counselling.
