AIEEE's online counselling has begun
The the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) 2011 counselling process has just begun to fill seats for engineering courses, architecture and planning courses. The AIEEE counselling will continue for 65 days. The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, has been made the HQ of the Central Counselling Board (CCB) and its director Prof Sandeep Sancheti is the chairman for this year.

The counselling involves a process to fill 34,000 seats in 30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 5 IIITs, 13 centrally-funded institutes and 23 self-financed institutions in the country. The process will be available online. CCB is expecting a huge crowd of 3,99,000 candidates, who are eligible should complete online registration by 23 June 2011.

The entire process which includes registration to the allotment of seat is being made online. To guide the candidates, CCB has made special online tutorial which will help the candidates register, fill forms, lock options, pay the fees and claim their seats.

The implementation made by CCB will help to minimise errors in the process of admission. The entire process can be completed with the help of a login name and password and an admit card which are to be protected by the candidate at all times till he gets admission. All the admissions are being done on the basis of all-India ranking which were the only criteria for admission into a participating college under AIEEE.
