Delhi university had decided this year to discontinue the pre-admission forms . It is assumed that the cutoff percentages at DU will rise significantly this year. The colleges have decided to submit their cutoffs by 1 PM on 14 June 2011 to the University. Many colleges are ready with their first cutoff marks and many are finalising the same.
The rise in the cutoffs this year might make the admissions more difficult for many aspirants. Aspirants may be required to have high scores for some of the most popular courses at the university such as B.Com (Honors) and BA (Honors) Economics in the first list.
As this year there have been no applications on which the colleges can base their cutoffs, admission committees are relying heavily on cutoffs of previous years, the current class 12 exam results to decide the cutoffs for this session.
This year the marks of students who registered online are also being taken into consideration for the preparation of cutoffs. This also, may conclude that the first list wont be of much use for majority of candidates.
