First round of CLAT Counselling ends on 12 June

The online Counselling Process for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2011 has began on 8 June 2011. The counselling will be over by 12,June 2011. The counselling is being organized by the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (NUJS). The platform is open to a select the students based on a broad cut off.

After registering the candidates will be requied to rank the 11 NLUs in the order of their preference. The candidates can refer to the brochures of all the Universities to make the choices.The students should find out that if their name is already mentioned in the General rank category within this counseling list, since they are anyway being called for counselling.

The CLAT authorities have declared that they will not be ranking the Universities. As per the authorities, mere participation in the counselling will not guarantee the an admission into any of the NLUs. The counselling process will be conducted for candidates under the All India categories, and not for the State-wise Categories, as the criteria for the state quotas differ amongst the NLUs.

The entire process will continue till 25 June, 2011. After that the second list will be declared. Then, the candidates can take admissions into the respective NLUs directly.

Documents you should carry for CLAT Counselling:

Admit Card: Candidate must carry his/her own admit card. If not, he/she must carry his/her roll number and control number.
Contact Details: The candidate needs to have a valid email id, where authentication mail(s) can be sent. The candidate must also ensure that he/she provides a valid cell phone number, for further communication.
Preference List: The candidate must list down the National Law Universities (NLUs) as per their preference, in descending order.
