As per the reports, the candidates from Karnataka have performed well in each category. First nine ranks out of ten in both Medical and Dental categories have been bagged by the state students. If we look at the overall rankings in Comedk-UGET the state students have claimed 86 ranks in Engineering and first 73 rank-holders from Medical and Dental category belong to Karnataka.
A city girl bagged first rank in medical and dental branches of (COMEDK) 2011. Prerana N from Bangalore got the top ranks in medical and dental streams. While Arjun Rao from Mumbai claimed the first position in Engineering. There were about 50,227 applicants from outside Karnataka who applied for Comedk-UGET.
Srikanth A S, Chief Executive Officer of COMEDK, said, "Karnataka students have excelled in all the streams and have bagged top ranks.This year, COMEDK had restructured the question pattern because coaching institutes had mastered the art of cracking objective questions and had passed on the information to students.This year to crack the Comedk-UGET a candidate got to apply to analytical thinking."
The exam was conducted at 105 exam centres across the state for admissions to 30 per cent of the total engineering seats, 40 per cent of total medical seats and 60 per cent dental seats in private professional colleges in Karnataka. The Counselling for the seats will start in July first week at NMKRV college, Bangalore. The classes for Medical/dental courses will begin from 1 August 2011 and engineering courses will start from 1 September 2011.
