Punjab girl tops in IIT-JEE 2011

The Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination(IIT-JEE) were declared yesterday (25th May 2011). And many inspiring success stories are coming up post declaration of the JEE results. Girls have also fared well in IIT-JEE exam at par with boys.

It was reported that Andhra Pradesh student Prithvi Teja got all India first rank in IIT-JEE 2011. Similarly, among girls it is Sumegha Garg of Bhatinda district in Punjab who made her parents proud by claiming the top position in the country. Her all India rank in IIT-JEE exams is 12.

Sumegha's father after completing his engineering joined the Punjab State Electricity Board in Bhatinda and is currently working as an Additional Superintendent in Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant.Her brother also had cleared the IIT-JEE exam with top ranking and that inspired her to add to the glory of her family.

She was expecting a good result but is elated to know that she has topped the girls in the country.She will be chasing her dreams by joining one of the IITs to become an engineer.
