CMI to conduct entrance test in May

The Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) has invited applications for an entrance examination to be held on 26 May for admission to the following courses:

Course and Eligibility
B.Sc. (Hons) in mathematics, computer science and physics: Students who have passed their Plus Two examination in science subjects can apply.

M.Sc. mathematics: Students with B.Sc. maths, B.Math., B.Stat., B.Tech. with good marks can apply.

M.Sc. computer science: Students with B.Sc. computer science or mathematics, BE/ B.Tech. degree in computer science can apply.

M.Sc. in application of mathematics: Students with B.Sc. degree in mathematics / physics/ statistics or BE / B.Tech. degree with strong background in mathematics can apply.

Ph.D. in mathematics: Meritorious M.Sc. degree holders in mathematics or BE/ B.Tech. holders with strong aptitude for research are eligible to apply.

Ph.D. in computer science: Meritorious BE/ B.Tech. degree holders or candidates with M.Sc.or MCA degree or science graduates with strong aptitude for research are eligible to apply.

Ph.D. in physics: Meritorious M.Sc. degree holders in physics or Bachelor's degree holders in physics or BE/ B.Tech. holders with strong aptitude for research can apply.

How to apply:
For application form, a requisition letter along with a demand draft of Rs.500 drawn in favour of Chennai Mathematical Institute payable at Chennai should be sent to the Chennai Mathematical Institute, Padur. P.O, Siruseri - 603103, Chennai.

Test Centres:
The centres for the entrance test will include Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Kolkata, Madurai, Mumbai, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Shillong, Srinagar and Trivandrum.

Important Dates:
Last date to submit application: 25 April 2011.
Entrance test date: 26 May 2011
