Re-evaluation process should be time-bound

By Super

The Delhi High Court have directed the Central Board of Secondary Education to adopt a mechanism that will help to complete time-bound re-evaluation of marks of Class 12 students seeking admissions to colleges.

According to the court, there exists no rules in the Delhi University to deal with cases of students who opt for re-evaluation of Class 12 marks. In the absence of any provision for admission of students who become eligible after revision of their marks, the entire exercise of re-evaluation loses its meaning.

Therefore, the court has directed the Delhi University registrar and the CBSE secretary to appear before it on 9 May with a proposed policy on Class 12 students who opt for re-evaluation of marks.
