BU denies to reaffiliate 170 Colleges

Many Bangalore Colleges affiliated to the Bangalore University (BU) are in trouble. The count goes upto 170 colleges and the varsity has decided not to send the Local Inspection Committee (LIC) to those colleges that have not been active for the academic year 2011-2012. Therefore, these colleges will not remain reaffiliated to BU.Most of these colleges either have double-digit admissions or no admissions at all.

According to the reports, BU organises a local inspection committee to visit all its affiliated colleges every year to get a report about the college's functioning.And thereafter, the university renews the affiliation for the courses for the academic year.

Considering the 170 colleges that have less than 60 admissions or no admissions at all, BU is planning not to send the LIC committee to these colleges.
