Eligibility:
With various engineering Colleges in India including the IITs offer B.Tech/ME/M.Tech courses in Chemical engineering. The aspiring Chemical Engineers can also do Diploma in Chemical engineering which is of three years duration.

Courses:
Chemical Engineering courses are offered at both graduation and post graduation levels across various Institutes in our country. Chemical Engineering involves study on Industrial Chemistry, Polymer Technology, Polymer Processing, Polymer Testing, Polymer Synthesis etc.An aspiring candidate for chemical engineering can join BE/B.Tech program after his/her Plus Two Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths. The program is of four years duration.

Career Scope in Chemical Engineering:
Chemical engineers may specialize in a particular chemical process, such as oxidation or polymerization. Chemical engineers may find opportunities in manufacturing industries, in research and development labs or productions plants. Chemical engineers also engage themselves in producing energy, electronics, food, clothing and paper. They also work in health care, biotechnology, and business services.
Chemical engineering graduates will find employment in petrochemical plants, synthetic fiber units and even in petroleum refining plants, medicines, varnishes, paints, fertilizers etc.
Public sector organizations and private companies dealing in pharmaceuticals, textiles, plastics, explosives etc. also recruit chemical engineers.

Remuneration:

The gross earning of the Chemical Engineers may depend on the industry they are working for.Along with that work experience and qualification also determines the pay package.A fresher can expect a salary around Rs 15000,while senior Engineers can earn upto Rs 50,000 per month. Those at management level can always expect a handsome salary.
