Aeronautical Engineering is just not about the study how the air-crafts are designed, maintained, constructed and developed.It involves space exploration.Aeronautical Engineer deals with the aerodynamic and mechanical aspects of these machines and systems.

 

Eligibility:
The minimum requirement to become an Aeronautical engineer is a bachelor's degree or a diploma in aeronautical engineering. This branch of engineering is technically demanding and challenging.Along with strong mathematical base, student should also have a creative and analytical mind.Students are also required to be physically fit, esp. who opt to work for defence.

Course:
Aeronautical Engineers should have the knowledge of mechanical and electronics and electrical engineering along with the basics of sciences. One needs to update himself at a rate that is faster than the rate at which the technology is advancing.Aeronautical engineering curriculum covers subjects like Mathematics,Fluids and solids,Thermodynamics,Avionics,Aerodynamics and Control systems.Also, instead of Bachelor's Engineering Degree (B.E.) students can also opt for AMAESI / AeSI (The Associate Membership examination of the Aeronautical Society of India). This four year course, recognized by the Government of India, is equivalent to B.E.Degree.

Career Scope in Aeronautical Engineering:
With widespread satellite technology in our country, aeronautical engineers are in demand to meet this state of the art technological field with increase usage of navigation systems. Opportunities are open for students in top international aviation companies - government and private airlines and organizations like IAF, ISRO and NASA etc.The candidates can find employment with Automobile giants.

Remuneration:
While working as a Aeronautical Engineer, your domain will decide for your pay cheque.While government jobs wont give you satisfactory packages, in private jobs one can expect lucrative salaries and perks. However, other benefits of a government job make up for the deficit in the pay.As a fresher, you can expect salary upto Rs 40,000 per month.
