GITAM University has received approval from the Council of Architecture (COA) to start a five-year B.Arch programme from this academic year.GITAM University is one of the established School of Architecture and an expert committee from COA visited the campus recently and appreciated the infrastructure facilities to run this course.
The Council of Architecture (COA) has been constituted by the Central Government under the provisions of the Architects Act, 1972.The Act provides for registration of architects, standards of education, recognised qualifications and standards of practice to be complied with by the practicing architects. The COA is charged with the responsibility to regulate the education and practice of profession throughout India besides maintaining the register of architects.
Vice-Chancellor G. Subramanyam held a review meeting and informed that admission into the programme will be based on the rank obtained by a candidate in the National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA).
